Gardein Pocket BBQ Pulled Porkless Shreds in a Tangy Sauce – Tue Review

Before I went vegan, I used to love a good pizza pocket. These may not be filled with pizza, but the “pocket” idea is a welcome one in my house. I saw these on Instagram and when I recently visited a local organic grocer in my area called Planet Organic, there they were! I couldn’t resist.

Ingredients + Nutritional Info

Pros

  • First off… SO SO SO DELICIOUS!
  • Easy to cook
  • Great for on-the-go
  • Quite filling as a snack or pairs well with chips, veggies, etc. for lunch or light dinner
  • My fiancé is jealous!
  • Cost was 1$/piece (on sale), 4$ total.

Cons

  • Took FOREVER in the oven.
I would recommend poking a few fork holes, turning the oven up to 325 and
not to bother flipping until the 20 minute mark,
    rather than half way through.
The first one I cooked took about 45 minutes (on 300), took about 33 minutes on 325.
If I used a microwave it would be a lot easier, but I don’t.

Verdict: 4.75 stars! Although it is delicious, it is not something I would eat every day as the sodium is quite high. If you’re having a small potluck, these babies would make any non-vegan question their decisions. 😛 Definitely a great treat option.
