Why you should try a satin pillow case – Why Wednesdays

Satin is a vegan textile – which is great news for your hair and skin!

On a side note, you have to be careful with textiles! Ensure to do your research before bying some new jacket/pair of shoes, etc. Knowledge is power!

Back to the satin pillow cases! I originally read online that it would help tame my wavy/randomly curly hair, and at around 11$ for two pillow cases, I figured it would be worth the risk.

So why try a silk pillow case over a standard cotton, bamboo, or other?

After sleeping on a silk pillow case, I have personally seen the following benefits:

  • Less split ends
  • Fuller hair
  • More manageable hair overall
  • More balanced and healthful skin
  • No more “pillow lines” on my face (which could mean less wrinkles in the future!)
  • A lot less of a wild bed head

I personally change my pillow case 1-2x a week. I have heard all kinds of speculation on how often you should change your pillow case, ranging from every day to maximum once a week. It is important you keep your pillow case fresh to avoid build up and other bacteria from making a cameo in the way of breakouts, etc. :-S

  1. I’ve been using satin pillow cases for years now, can’t live without them. I even have a satin scarf to wrap around pillows when traveling.
